"This is one of the few paintings I did 'just for me," although someone else fell in love with it so it has a new owner. I collect Rose Medallion china, so I purchased miniature roses and set up this still life with a piece of lace I love. I painted it in acrylics, but in the traditional style of a watercolor, where the whites are actually unpainted areas. This means painting around the lace, painting the holes, in order to create the appearance of lace. The painting proved to be a challenge for all its detail, but I loved creating it!"
