"The 'Bridge of Lions' leads from the Old City section of St. Augustine, Florida, across the bay to Anastasia Island. The city side of the bridge is flanked by two majestic marble lion sculptures. This painting depicts one of the lions, cloaked in the midday Florida sunshine. The city was the site of Ponce de Leon's landing, thus the name for my painting. This painting was featured in an annual exhibit of the Florida Watercolor Society, my first time in a major watercolor competition."
