"This is my husband Rick's favorite rocking chair, but I created the setting of a country porch. If you look closely, you'll see the pattern of 'caning' at the top and bottom of the painting. I actually cut and wove the watercolor paper before starting the painting. I had re-caned another similar rocking chair, and discovered doing caning on paper is certainly a lot easier than doing it with reeds!"
