"I love a challenge, and painting lace certainly fills the bill. In traditional watercolor painting, the whites are actually the unpainted paper. So to depict lace, you actually paint around it! I also used a technique of spattering to create the background texture you see at the top, keeping the background colors neutral so the juicy strawberries capture your attention first."
