Every morning the owners would haul out the big fiberglass shark! This was my first attempt to depict nighttime - in this case, pre-dawn. The original of this painting sold on the second day of the first show it was in! I expected it to sell to a local person who would recognize the setting, but it sold to a family from Michigan. They wrote me: 'My husband grew up fishing and, of course, had a fishing buddy who took equal pleasure in their outings. We look forward to enjoying your work in our home.'"
